Teen Tech Day is a one-day interactive conference created 6 years ago by Shercole King and co-founders in 2011. The conference was designed to bring more Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to students in the Greater New Orleans area. An opportunity to learn from local professional about their craft and create a project. Teen Tech Days main focus is to spark interest in Technology and inject the arts and bridge creativity to allow our youth to explore all the opportunities imaginable in technology. We work to provide interactive and fun environments that encourage exploration as well as resources to further the youth of Greater New Orleans success.
Teen Tech Day is entering its 6th year, growing from 17 students in its first year to 65 in its 5th. The goal of TTD’s 6th year is to share with 100 students from the Greater New Orleans areas. We plan to offer students opportunities in programming, website development, the arts, engineering, entrepreneurial studies and more. Our targeted age group consists of 13-17 years old residing in the Greater New Orleans region.
My name is Shercole King and I am the co-founder and organizer of Teen Tech Day as you may know. This is one project that I have been so proud of and excited about. I believe, as well as many of you in the youth of New Orleans. I feel they all deserve equal chances and equal resources. I believe they all deserve the right t explore career options, pay around and discover their passion and explore. Because of that, I enjoy helping even if a small segment of our youth explore STEM and soon the arts.
